One note is responding with happiness that Mr. Colby would be joining the STROLLERS benevolent order on the 45thh anniversary party on November 28
th
1930. Another letter is a long two page typed letter from Mr. Sands to Mr. Colby (it appears these two gentlemen were close friends for a long time by reading their very nice and long correspondences) Mr. Sands speaks on foreign policy, immigration and deportation of illegals (all hot topics still within the ongoing campaigns. He as well is asking for help in receiving a passport. This man seems very well versed in all things in reference to the nations and peoples who were to within the following ten to 40 years after this letter was written created some of the most dramatic and nation changing events in American history “right up until today in his discussion on China..” He touched on the Japanese, the Russians, the Chinese, the NEW Soviet concept and even of “Hayti..” These letters in combination with the documents I have from STANDARD STATISTIC Company’s Luther L. Blake are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and telling almost PROPHETIC in nature documents that I feel they need to be remembered, researched and that when people “QUESTION..” as to whether or not “information..” (emails, letters, phone discussions between elected men and woman) that indeed there is MUCH to be learned that these extremely aware, educated and connected folks say in private for fear that what they are saying privately may not be “POLITICALLY CORRECT..” to speak out loud. The PRESS has NO morality these days and seem to be more motivated by sex, scandal and such private and useless information that items of great interest and possible help in achieving compromises which we need these days to put the many fronts of fires of hate burning globally truly need to be addressed. These topics are not COLORFUL enough to make the headlines when if we look at history WW2, the Pacific War, all COULD have been deterred if ONLY items such a I have here in my possession were publicly discussed instead of fearfully being kept quiet by the greatest minds in our nation for fear of the SAME EXACT things that Politicians are fearful of today. The PRESS is the GREATEST deterrent to FREEDOM OF EXPRSSION AND COMPROMISE within our fragile world. They simply DO NOT have a CLUE as to what freedom of speech truly is !!!! It is not peering (leering..) into men and woman’s bedrooms and hotel stays it is actually doing true research “INTO..” the MINDS and THOUGHTS of these people and using their great insights to SHARE with the public so they can make EDUCATED and AWARE choices based on the FORESIGHT of brilliant men and woman instead of relying on graphic and depressing headlines “after the fact..” with the use of lackluster and shallow hindsight !!!! In other words iif the press is going to use technology to break into email and phone records at least try breaking into the “MINDS..” of them instead of their bedrooms !!!

INFO ON THE HONORABLE BAINBRIDGE COLBY
Up for auction are the items shown in the scans.  The Honorable Bainbridge Colby- (Woodrow Wilsons last Secretary of State and Mark Twains lawyer, as well as the man who ratified the 19th amendment which gave woman the right to vote !!!, I have seen on the net that Mr. Colbys autograph alone has sold for between .00 and .00. And since carbon relies of the era did not come with signatures I have decided to add a check and signature so as to add a direct provenance to your acquisition. . He was a gentleman who helped shape the U.S. Political foreign affairs during the 1920's - 1940's. I grew up in his hometown and the caretaker for the family estate called Little Brook Farm, at Sunset Bay, near Bemus Point. The Colby family farms caretaker after Mr. Colby’s death in 1950 and Mrs. Colby’s death in 1963 was my Sunday school teacher (Mr Sydney Taylor) in the Maple Springs Interdenominational church from when I moved there in 1964 until his death in 1967. Us kids would walk Mr. Taylor home several miles each Sunday after church through the beautiful woods that later became Long State Park after Mr. Taylor passed away and we would help him in his duties of cleaning up the property and my father would haul the truckloads of junk we piled up every few weeks to the Ellery Center Dump which is when I kept a couple small boxes of the stuff and carried around until I began to research it this past two years. I just kick myself now realizing that we must have thrown away several tons of paperwork and old books that were most probably filled with original mark Twain items and other significant words of men and woman’s gifts, books, manuscripts that today would be a treasure of Americana history. I just thank God that Mr. Taylor told me to save the little bit.

From buyers we offer great scans, 7 day auctions to give you time to ask all questions& for more scans (please do these requests within the first 3 days of the auction to give us time to respond properly), we expect you to understand that auction items we sell are one of a kind and irreplaceable and therefore the sale is final unless for the obvious reasons stated clearly in our return policies. If we do discuss an issue and decide to offer a refund the buyer is responsible for the return shipping/H/IC and the item must be in the exact condition we sent it (damage due to shipping is dealt with as per return policies). We aspire to provide our buyers with great service and will always ship within 3 business days from the date of the processed PayPal payment,

However if the sale ends on a Friday we will ship the following Monday as we are over 20 miles from a post office that provides weekend service.
If the following Monday (or Tuesday) are holidays we cannot control that and will ship the first date we can.
This is a rare situation and we try very hard to ship by the 3

YOU MUST OPEN  your package if there is obvious damage to it  in front of a postal employee (your postman) or you will void the USPS & our return policy !!!
OUR PERSONAL EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES RETURN POLICY FOR OUR CUSTOMERS –
(Although we list item as no returns accepted we do understand that under certain extenuating personal circumstances or an inadvertent error in shipping may occur and we as  honest sellers  understand this and we will always consider these issues that may arise  to help out our customers.
Our basic policies  are similar to  which eBay already offers (for a fraudulent listing of an item not sent as described). However we also understand that due to the economy and due to some personal emergencies people simply have emergencies beyond their control and we sympathize with these situations. So under these circumstances we offer the buyer the opportunity to contact us immediately before we send the item (preferably) and explain why you need  to cancel the purchase.
1) only if item is not as described in our auction. And as our clear scans show! Our auctions are for used/vintage or antique items and our scans and descriptions define any defects in the item and we happily will answer questions or supply more photos prior to bidding!!
2) Buyer must use the same S/H/IC and packaging as it was sent and item must be in the same condition.
3)  Any damage due to  shipping is covered  however buyer must utilize the provided coverage plan (please do not just ship item back and expect us to issue a refund).    MUST open obvious damaged packages in front of USPS employee to receive their coverage !!
4) Damaged items/packages
must be opened  within your local USPS office in front of USPS employee
,  as resending it to us voids out the coverage and as sellers we lose the item (as well as the sale).
That is why we try to  "insist.." buyers (as we have learnt from experience) to open an obviously damaged box in front of a USPS employee for immediate verification of any potential damages that may have occurred due to improper handling of your purchase.
5) We truly package well to limit any breakage, but extenuating situations, such as damages due to shipping.  S/H/IC (we will cover the extra cost out of our sales price to make sure the item is fully covered)!!! PLEASE remember that the 3 day shipping guarantee is from the time and date of your PayPal payment and not from the Date of the sale!!!!! We cannot guarantee a shipping date “until...” the full payment has been processed!!!
